"Advocate" Personality(INFJ-A / INFJ-T)

The Advocate personality type is very rare, with less than 1% of the population belonging to it, but their contribution to the world cannot be ignored. They have an innate sense of idealism and morality, but what really sets them apart from other idealistic personality types is their decisiveness. They are not lazy dreamers, but people who can accomplish their goals on the ground and leave a profound positive impact.

They make helping others the meaning of life, and while you'll find them at rescue events and charity work, their true ideal is to get to the root of the problem so that people don't get stuck in a rut in the first place.

Helping each other

"Advocates are often a combination of all sorts of things: soft-spoken but opinionated, and relentless fighters for their beliefs. They are decisive, but not self-serving - advocates are creative, imaginative, full of conviction and empathy, and are not about creating advantage, but about creating balance. Egalitarianism and karma are ideas that appeal to them, and they believe that the best way to help the world is to touch the hearts of tyrants with love and compassion.

Everyone needs to make a choice whether to walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness.
Martin Luther King

For advocate personality types, it's easy to connect with others, and their words are warm and emotional and humane rather than purely logical and factual. Their coworkers and friends may rightly think of them as quiet extroverts, but they need to know that Advocates need time alone to recuperate, so don't be too surprised when they suddenly leave. "Advocates care about other people's feelings and want to be treated in the same way - which sometimes requires a few days of alone time.

Life goes on and on

Most importantly, Advocate personality types need to remember to take care of themselves. Their passion for their beliefs is likely to be more than they can handle, and when it gets out of hand, they are likely to find themselves in a state of exhaustion, ill-health and stress. This is especially true of "advocates" who fight conflict and criticism, whose sensibility compels them to do everything possible to avoid personal attacks, but when the situation is unavoidable, they will fight back in very irrational and unhelpful ways.

To the "advocates" the world is full of unnecessary inequalities. There is no other type of person better suited to start a campaign of redress, big or small. They just need to remember that while they care about the world, they should not forget to care about themselves.
